| 摘要： 第一次台湾海峡危机期间中美双方一度剑拔弩张，但最终并没有发生军事冲突。危机期 间，为避免中美发生战争，对英国国家利益造成负面影响，一方面，英国敦促美国不要公开宣称对金 门等岛屿负有防守义务，希望美国督促国民党从沿海岛屿撤军；另一方面，英国积极与中国进行接触， 希望中国政府在维持对沿海岛屿主权的同时放弃使用武力，并充当了中美进行谈判的中间人角色。英 国的外交斡旋在一定程度上促进了台海地区实现短暂和平。 |
